These dreams are big and start here....
Right now, I'm working to raise funds to produce a new season of the Granny Pearl web series and bring performances, beach adventures and other intergenerational activities to South Wales (where I live) and beyond....
In going about putting together ideas and dreams for Granny Pearl I discovered that the ethos of all that I'm doing with her aligns with the Well-being of Future Generations Act 2015.
"Wales’ commitment to the well-being of future
generations takes inspiration from indigenous wisdom and the Seventh Generation Principle. Since the Well-being of Future Generations Act was passed in 2015, several other countries across the world are acting in the interests of the not-yet-born.
The approach calls for a new mindset and gives us the ambition, permission and legal obligation to improve our social, cultural, environmental and economic well-being.
Shifting to future generations thinking requires a culture change."
- Future Generations Commissioner for Wales
You can read more via the link above but there are seven goals set out within the Act.
Here they are and how Granny Pearl moves like the tide between them all.

The Granny Pearl endeavour treasures our world, particularly the marine life and heritage of the coast. It does all it can to run economically and responsibly. It has huge potential to bring economic growth to the areas associated with Granny Pearl, employs a team to bring ideas to life and takes inspiration from the environment to educate and inspire audiences of all ages.

Granny Pearl's love of the coast goes beyond an appreciation. Through community engagement it promotes taking care of our coast, nurturing it and seeing that it is healthy. It's Granny Pearl's home and it's part of ours. The Granny Pearl endeavour pushes for a healthy natural environment which directly supports better health and well-being.

Granny Pearl is for everyone. She invites participation across generations and her shows can be experienced through the senses. The ethos is to make connections and celebrate people, showcasing vibrancy and ability and diversity. Granny Pearl's friends stretch across the world, connected by thousands of miles of ocean containing countless species of diverse and wonderful creatures, some of which are yet to be discovered! Her world inspires awe and wonder. Something we can all share.

Granny Pearl invites you to explore the coast and experience its wonder! Tamily activities on the beach and with the desire to produce intergenerational Quiz Trails, Granny Pearl champions moving, exploring & discovery as part of any family's activities on a regular basis. Get to know the coast and challenge yourself to walk the Wales Coast Path... Part of the next phase of work is to create opportunities for doing active things which benefit people of all ages physically and mentally

#MoreInCommon Granny Pearl invites connection with others. Workshops and performances are engaging, structured, and participants are supported to try new things with new people. The production of Granny Pearl works on pooling resources with networks of professionals across the arts, charities and education. Together we're stronger.

If we can raise the funds, the new series of Granny Pearl will feature Welsh-speaking characters. We aim for the series to reach across the UK, introducing Welsh to young children in a fun creative way. On the journey, I hope my team and I become more confident in speaking Welsh! Granny Pearl also thrives on comunity engagement with communities featuring in the series. We aim to increase attendance to live Granny Pearl events, nurturing family's connections with local theatres and arts centres

Granny Pearl theatre show offers audiences opprotunities to live in the moment. Its accompanying series and workshops support the ethos of being responsible for our planet. I wish to make connections with organisations protecting waterways and coastal waters, those working to preserve and protect marine environments, all for the benefit of the future of our planet and the people in it.
I've put in a bid to Arts Council Wales to support the development of a new web series of 'Granny Pearl'.
"Shaped by community engagement, featuring Welsh language and BSL interpretation, and nurturing a love of exploration and discovery, this new series will combine music, craft, puppetry, and storytelling to depict Granny Pearl’s adventures along the South Wales coast. Integral to the series is footage of community beach workshops, intergenerational conversations produced in partnership with local community groups and the inclusion of the Welsh language. The initiative will be supported by a digital marketing campaign to engage families and promote live activities. Additionally, free downloadable resources will be available for all, fostering connections with the coastal environment and promoting shared activities for different generations."
