Granny Pearl is very special Granny. Not only is she 103 years old but she happens to be a mermaid! She is inviting you for a special beach combing and rockpooling adventure down at beautiful Birling Gap beach this summer where you can explore, create something arty inspired by what you find and meet her to show her what you've created!

We will meet on the beach bright and early at 10am to make the most of the brilliant rockpools at low tide. The session will be done by 12noon and should work with the tides. We will check times of the tides a few days before our session and update you should timings change, but please mark off the morning of Saturday 14th for your beach combing adventure! When you arrive, look out for the big tail!

Sign in and receive your special beach pack which will include your arty activity.

We'll get busy rockpooling and collecting so bring a bucket, and something to sit on so you can be comfortable while creating your artwork! We are also asking families to film their explorations and anything interesting they find, and send us the footage so we can include it in our next series of Granny Pearl films. We'll be filming some of the session too so please be aware that you signing up for the workshop means you may be featured in our new series of Granny Pearl films. Please get in touch if you'd like to find out more.

We'll be exploring and searching for some exciting seaside wildlife and will be keeping our eyes and ears open for the sights and sounds of the coast. You'll make your own artwork inspired by the environment with all arts materials supplied and Granny Pearl will drop in to see how you're all getting on! She may even have a song and a story or two for you.

This session is hosted by Jenny Lockyer, (creator of the Granny Pearl theatre show and children's Youtube series) in partnership with Go Wild With Us Uk, specialists in exciting outdoor adventures in the forest and at the coast.
